What does it mean about the kind of world in which I have been set down?
The texture of the world, its filigree and scrollwork,
means that there is the possibility for beauty here,
a beauty inexhaustible in its complexity,
which opens to my knock,
which answers in me a call I do not remember calling,
and which trains me to the wild and extravagant nature of the spirit I seek.”
Annie Dillard

the seasons are changing....
a season full of the texture of the world..
a season of filigree and scrollwork...
inexhaustibly complex....
will soon be opening to my knock....

a study in texture...
fibers...from a recent journey..
fibers from afar..
kakishibu cotton..
ami ito-from persimmon extract...
jersey tape..
kasuri linen paper...
such interesting names...
such interesting fibers..
combined...
layered..
wild..
extravagant...
so what does this mean?
everything I had envisioned...
the nature of this knit....
was all I was seeking....
has answered a call...

it is wrapped and worn...
and now....
autumn is near.....
a season of texture.

Hello T~
Hope you and your family are well =)
Love the words you found and your thoughts.
Texture ~ most definitely ~ the endless grooves on a tree trunk or the crinkly rustle of the fall leaves on a hike..
