the elves and the hat maker

"All those poor elves I haven't set free yet,
having to stay over during Christmas
because there aren't enough hats!"

J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)

I sometimes think of the fairytale about the Elves and the Shoemaker
I know...
you are laughing...
but seriously...
with so many ideas swarming about in ones mind...
who couldn't use a little help now and again?
An elf could come in handy, finishing up those projects.
Now,I would certainly treat them very, very kindly...
and would set them free..
when they are through with their work...
what I've been up to~
after making some hats...
for a new little one..
a he little one..
someone...far away..
at the bottom of a whole other continent...
taking his time to get ready to
face this world..
while those already here..
are anxiously awaiting his arrival..
so we{smiles}...
made blue...
B is for....
and green,

and stripes..
IMG_0671
and ears..
IMG_1583
and knotted or not..
IMG_1624
so what do you think??
enough hats???
for awhile anyway {smiling again}...
should I release the elves??

The elves have done a beautiful job. I think it's time to release them so they can take a quick vacation to Hawai'i or so other lovely tropical locale.

Send them to me, I will be very kind to them indeed. Can they do socks as well as hats?
The hats are beautiful. I think there might be just enough for a week or two anyway!

You make me laugh. But I don't think of elves for help (except at Christmas) but rather of mice and story of the Tailor of Gloucester :)

They are ALL adorable ~ and yes ~ it's time to stop - LOL Lucky little tot!

They are so sweet! and I could use one...it has been -20C for the last week...enough already. Happy new year and the very best to you in 2011. This is my year of 'discipline'. I am purging, simplifying, trying to get as many courses at Uni done as I can, financial freedom goals.... you know the drill. My mom phoned me today and requested new socks...I guess I will also have to do some knitting.
