having an edge~

"Does something which exists on the edge have no true relevance to the stable center, or does it, by being on the edge, become a part of the edge and thus a part of the boundary, the definition which gives the whole its shape?" Lucy Grealy~ Confusing at first off... but really it is a valid question. Sometimes I feel as if I am on the edge... and not part of the stable center... but,don't we all at times? On the edge of creating... and then not... and then finally stabilizing... stabilizing enough to create... a few little things... forming an edge... a soft edge... but still having a boundary. Am I confusing you? not my intent... my intent is to give the whole a shape... and I think I did... give the whole a shape... at least I hope I did... a hand made,hand quilted pillow... something to take the edge off a hard chair... something to stabilize and make someone feel centered. something that gives the whole a shape. and a handmade woolen needle keep.. with an acorn pincushion... something that may become part of the edge.. and that leaves me at the edge... of my roll.. {smiles}

little gifts of friendship~

I have been blessed...with some little gifts, some little gifts of friendship~ unexpected gifts... of wool.... and buttons... and fabric... flowers...and more.... but beyond the tangible of shells and photos and books... I have been given love... and friendship... and that in itself... is truly a tremendous thing... it is... I have been swatching... and dreaming..thinking...reading... and working way too much... and offering a bit of some shameless self-promotion again... the editors of ARTFUL BLOGGING liked my header so much, it is featured in the Summer issue of ARTFUL BLOGGING MAGAZINE under "banners we love~" so I'd like to take a moment to thank them again for the honor... and I'd like to thank you all for your wonderful support by offering a giveaway of one of my prints...
