in the right light~

"In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary." Aaron Rose in the light~ It is the right time for me to be infatuated with the lush beauty of ranulculus. open~ tissue like petals that unfurl... from tightly budded whorls... when the light is just right... so when this last lesson was to reflect on light abstraction~ and abstraction... my choice would be easy. Easy, because I find these extraordinary blooms so intensely romantic... a few reflections~ and reflective of Spring. and this photography challenge has a been an extraordinary opportunity for me to step out of the box... I have learned that even with a very busy schedule one can see things in the right light, Atlantic blue~ and find the right time to explore different venues... and realize that you are only a landscape photographer at the seaside... because everything there is in the right light. at the right time, and to me,everything there is extraordinary. in the right light~ So thank you to Carolyn and Camilla for the offer of a chance to try something new.. here is a bouquet of ranunculus... curvy stems and feather-like leaves for you... and for you ALL.

I went in search of a color and a name~

"The whole world, as we experience it visually, comes to us through the mystic realm of color " Hans Hofmann Our world is a spinning blur of color. I took a moment to stop the spin and went in search... of a lesson on color... and a name for it... my atlantic~ I went to find the name of the color of my Atlantic. My place of vast solitude and peace... my retreat from the maddening spinning world... I found the color of the sea, reflected in a book... in some yarn, sometimes darker... sometimes lighter... just as the sea itself. and reflected in a scent lightly held against the skin... and in a vase holding the light scent of a flower... a color story~ the realm of color of a woman in a favorite sweater... and in the aged painted wood of an antique ice cream churn... ~a color story~ in the visual experience of some new silk threads... and of the color woven in throughout new fabric... the color reflected in a cup of tea... and in a card to buy some tea... the color of spring.... the color of April sky's through colored glasses... a blend of blues and of greens... lights and dark's... this this the color of my Atlantic. tied up And you thought I would wrap myself in grays.... {smiles} well...I did... along with the color of my Atlantic. So what is this name? The name of the color of my Atlantic? We will call it the mystical color of water~

comp perception~

"It is one of the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power of perception is also the limit of all there is to perceive." C.W.Leadbeater hmmm~~ I made one of the commonest mistakes.. thinking that my perception... of this weeks lesson ... was all there was to perceive. it was composition and perspective... not just perspective... As I had incorrectly thought. it is always good to read thoroughly... and double check... I should have taken my own advice...{smiling} then I thought... after realizing my error... that still life doesn't have to be created with many objects... and I stood fast in my minimalistic approach... and then switched modes quickly ... in a lame effort to cover ... and display the baby socks I just knit.... a little gift for a new baby boy... Handmaiden yarn in shades of pale baby blues... and muted browns..perfect colors... and a stack of some muted blues and browns for a little something sewn as well... My perception is that I may have saved this ?? or am I failing again to consider all there is to perceive? Either way... it was another fun challenge... and Easter Greetings to all who celebrate!
