"Tis the part of a wise man to keep himself
to-day
for
to-morrow,
and not
to venture all his
eggs
in one basket"
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra

It's that time of year...
for eggs....
laying ....
and dyeing...
and having
lessons about...

first...white on white.
one egg...
one egg in a white basket...
and one soft...
because who could resist a soft boiled egg?

then on black...
a black nest...
black bokeh..
white egg...

then..
well..
time to play...
a dozen...cage free...browns...
basking in the light...

and more whites...
in the light...
lined up on the sill...

and a painted...and crackled one...
resting in
a nest of moss...
held gently in an
old wire egg cup...

and why not try a feather...
a delicate white wisp of a feather
and some texture..

and trying to remember
not to put
all the eggs in one basket...

I decided to keep to-days
for to-morrows
omelet...

Oh wow, your photos are so beautiful. Love the way you did the b/w, how creative. The sun on the eggs is amazing.
I've loved seeing everyone's different interpretations of this project. Seems like many people lined their eggs up all in a row - I particularly like your sitting on the window sill quietly waiting. Such lovely photos!
I love your pictures, especially the white ones lined up on the windowsill. We used our duck eggs for the most deliciopus omlette yesterday too!

Very nice, it smells of Provence style
Photo - egg and feather - so easy
nice ...
Love the label in your first photo! The first photo in your white on white - love the subtle layers in the background! The eggs in a row on the plain wooden window sill are simple beauty! And the last image, sharing your intentions - quirky :-)

Happy weekend!
These are beautiful T. Hope you are feeling better. You continue to inspire me.
Oh, they are all great, but the one on the window sill is my favorite! There is something about eggs, isn't there? Have a great day!
your photos are wonderful - egg-xactly what we needed!
Beutiful work Theresa. Ver creative, love your use of light. I really like the white egg on black, the contrast in color and also the contrast of texture with the smooth egg makes it really interesting. The brown and white egg in also a true favorite. I am glad you could join in, can't wait to see what you come up with for next week.
Hope you are feeling better.

As many others have already written, I too really enjoyed ever word and image in this post.
Eggs really are perfect vehicles, sources of energy and inspiration.
Best wishes!

That is a gorgeous post; the words, the photos, the entire image. It caused me to slow down, breathe slower. You really got me! :) Thank you.
So very beautiful, T. My girls are clucking their approval.

I love your egg pics...wish I had seen that post before trying an egg diptych this week. White on white is difficult to focus. ;-) You have some wonderful lighting and compositions. Great job.

Oh, you're probably the 4th I am seeing with the egg shots and suddenly am realizing how evocative shooting an egg can be!
FYI, make me only ONLY brown eggs anytime and please, don't ask why!!!
cheers T.
Theresa, you definitely have a love affair with light. I'd been looking forward to your post and you did not disappoint. Each thought and execution is appreciated from here.
Amazing pictures all! The last one is a favorite, the contrast of the white egg against the red bowl. Also, the way the light is shining ove rthe egg carton is wonderful. Quite lovely!
i like your writings so much, this one of course it makes me think of spring and easter, a fresh collection of natural wonder.
What a fun post! Who knew eggs could be so inspiring :)
Enjoy your omelet!
Never doubted that you could make a simple egg a thing of such beauty. In particular, the windowsill shot is simply incredible!
I love the painted egg and the feathered egg. What delicate texture it added. Stunning. I am also sorry to read of your stolen items from the blog. How sad. Glad you are through that.
Beautiful, I really like the row of white eggs by the window. Sorry I'm getting back to you so late.
