doubts & certainty

"Doubt can be a bond as powerful and sustaining as certainty" {quote} from the movie DOUBT... When I purchased this Rowan Summer Tweed I was certain what I was going to knit..... it was going to be Whitby from this new magazine ... but,I doubted that I would like it in the end... so, instead I decided to make this Veste Croisse... this,I had no doubt, that I would love... I was certain of it at first,I was doubtful of the yarn, but as I made progress, I knew, with all certainty that this yarn...silk and cotton...tweed would be perfect...light,summery,just was I was hoping for... yes,I am certain I will love wrapping in this. and when this arrived from Elaine {thank you again} I knew, without a doubt, that I loved it, I still am not certain, however of what to make... but, whatever it becomes, I am certain it will be loved...no doubt here and this, well the Rowan Summer Tweed... reminds me of this color... without a doubt...

truths

"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them." Galileo the truth is, I really don't like to be photographed... never have... probably never will... Nothing worse for me than taking my own picture, except, Having someone else take it....(especially when your caught picking flowers with your hand at a weird angle) The pleated wrap is complete... and worn... and loved... the truth is, I made this for one reason, to take along to the beach, when the evening tide comes in, and a slight breeze fills the air. and this, well, the truth is, just because.

I had

I had... a little stack of Japanese fabric. linen... purchased just in time from here. bought to make a gift. a little baby gift. It is sometimes hard, to choose the right thing... you want the gift to be worn, you want the gift to be liked... I thought... I decided... I cut... I sewed...
little red birds... all in a row perfect for Spring I lined it... with a neutral cotton, for a little warmth on chilly days...
and it was finished with a tiny vintage button.
a raglan sleeved kimono style jacket...
from this book ...simple,but delightful,
for a new baby, that I am soon to meet...
Every child begins the world again....Henry David Thoreau
