Lofty

Yes,it's a scarf. It's Lofty, a Kim Hargreaves pattern from Rowan magazine #34. I wanted to use the Jo Sharp Aran Silkroad tweed that Kim sent me and I think I've found the perfect pattern for it.This is a dropped stitch scarf, knit on the bias. It's quick and fun. And,I adore this color-it's called Twig.Perfect. Just perfect for autumn. I'm finishing up these socks and then a sweater is next,I believe. Autumn is the time for sweaters... and school...everyone is talking about school again-so I suppose it's only natural for my mind to drift there....as I was knitting, the scarf reminded me of one of those Chinese paper lanterns...you know, the ones we all made in school... and autumn is the time for lovely muted colors....I found the most wonderful hydrangeas at the Frick soft, dusty pink color...very feminine. I was taken there for a birthday treat. We had Tea; actually Royal Tea, no less...a peach bellini is what made it royal. Little tea sandwiches, scones and desserts...really what more could you ask for? Autumn is just beyond the fence...

Jo Sharp yarn is so nice to knit with, and so lovely to wear isnt it? The new scarfs x 2(previous post) look fabulous. Jo Sharp originates from my part of the world, just down the road infact! We used to get great yarn pickings at her outlet, but she has now moved to the city, and taken her factory of yarn, knitters and patterns with her....sniff sniff..

The scarf is so pretty! The color against your blue shirt reminds me of calming ocean colors. How appropriate. Royal Tea, well ain't you fancy?! ;) It actually sounds like an ideal birthday get-together.

I think that Cellini is adorable. Can't wait to see it done up.

The colour of that scarf is so pretty on you, especially with the blue!

I too am in love with Assemblage. What yarn are you planning on using?

Come on fall!

Boy that Kim is a gem!... The scarf is so pretty and 'say' Lofty! ;) Sounds like you had a great B-day. Love Peach Bellinis.. but alas, Autumn is around corner and so are the warmed ciders, and the other cooler climate delights...

I admire the fact that you've lined up pretty great knits for fall knitting. My mind is a bit unsettled on that part. Maybe soon I will get plan in place soon.

Oh, yes, the tweedy scarf in that yarn and colour sounds perfect to me. It' also looks good on you.

Pretty scarf! I bought a bunch of yarn while at WEBS to make unique scarves and fingerless mitts. Your pictures are beautiful as always and what a wonderful treat...high tea!
