*brulee*

About this time of year I start longing.Longing for vacation. We usually take our week the last week of August. The beaches are a little quieter after school starts, and the ocean is at its warmest. We have a couple of favorite restaurants, but this one in particular, because they are famous for their vanilla bean crème brulee (with a house made cookie)...it is seriously good and I am craving it...a few more weeks... But for now, this brulee will have to suffice. It was a quick Sunday knit (I really need to start a Flickr group...what do you think?). I purchased the yarn last Saturday at the LYS-Rowan Yorkshire tweed chunky, which I believe may have been discontinued last fall.I used #11 needles and never looked back. I love this piece. The buttons, well they were purchased on Saturday,too...the shop had a sale and I bought up oh so many buttons! There is only one button that I must have, and I may ask a favour of someone...later...3 of these matched,1 is different, but the colors are really the same,...the colors are truer here: I am prepared for our Mid-Atlantic winter.Come January,I shall be ready to fight the bitter chill. For now though,I am ready to have the ocean meet my feet...

Is that Thorny? I love that yarn and can't believe they had the nerve to discontinue it! It's so pretty! I sort of like the odd button on it. It gives it a quirkiness I enjoy. Great job!

I love your Flickr Group idea for quick knits. I always toss in a few quick knits in between the larger projects. The buttons are perfect with that wool/pattern. Great find!

Yum, brulee. My favourite dessert. Love the button detail on the scarf. Makes it stand out as something a little different

Ah,another pattern to add to my ravelry queue! It'll be so toasty warm come winter. I love the buttons, they're perfect!

Your week at the beach sounds perfect too. Quiet beaches, warm water and creme brule....ahhhh.
